Music

I  also work as a conductor and music director most notably for Notorious, Birmingham’s choir with a difference which I founded in 1997.

Notorious promotes three concerts of it’s own a year featuring music from Mozart to Radiohead and also gets booked by a wide range of clients for corporate and community gigs that range from singing for the Birmingham St Patrick’s Day Parade to Miss Moneypenny’s nightclub!

I’m very proud to sing in one of the UK’s best choirs Ex Cathedra and I’ve been doing that since 2000.

In recent years I’ve also been asked to conduct the following choirs and events:

- Wasted – MD for a new play by Women and Theatre being developed for a two week run at mac in 2011.

- The City Sings - conduct a performance by Notorious and other local choirs and instrumentalists at the opening weekend of mac May 2010

- The City Sings- Massed community choir and orchestra performance and workshops of a new work commissioned for the opening of mac in Birmingham at Adrian Boult Hall April 2010

- The City Sings – Flashmob choir performance and workshops at ArtsFest of a new work commissioned for the opening of mac in Birmingham September 2009

- MELT Project – Conductor of massed community choir and children’s choir and new piece by Ian Chapman in Birmingham March 2009 and Genoa, Italy June 2009.

- Ulfah Collective – Muslim Women’s Choir Jan – March 2009

Big Voice 2 – Conducted one group of community choirs at large scale event at Artsfest 2006

- Big Voice – Conducted one group of community choirs at large scale event at Artsfest 2005

Hello, I’m a student at Wolverhampton university and I’m currently doing a project on music entrepreneurs. Whilst researching I saw that you have alot of background and experience in music business. I was wondering if I could possibly ask you a few questions via email if you have the time?

    Regards, Yvonne O’Sullivan

  3. Hi Yvonne

I’d prefer to do it in person – my next ‘being helpful’ session is on the last Thursday of November. Is that too late?

If not – come and see me then at the Urban Coffee Company in Birmingham.

  4. Hi Clare, I understand you are looking for singers for an event in December. Is this still the case? If so I would be interested and am happy to let you know a bit more about myself. I have left my email address and I look forward to hearing from you when you have a moment to reply.

    Kind regards

    Cj
